Misrule wins a Kirkus award!
Murder by Misrule has been named one of Kirkus Reviews’ Best Indie Books of 2014!
Francis Bacon had nothing to say about book awards. He was generally wry about Fortune; what comes up must, come down, is more or less his view. This quote is typical:
“The folly of one man is the fortune of another.”
Christopher Marlowe, unsurprisingly, understood the feeling better. This is from Tamburlaine, Part One:
“And ’tis a pretty toy to be a poet.
Is it not passing brave to be a king,
And ride in triumph through Persepolis?”
Today, I’ll ride, and let the Wheel turn how it may.
