Book signing

Let's pflee to the Pflugerville Book Pfestival!

Pflugerville Book Pfestival

Saturday, April 29, 1:00 – 5:30
Pflugerville Public Library

This is going to be an amazing event, y’all! With wildflowers en route. 19 authors, including best-sellers in fiction and non-fiction, will be reading their works and talking about the craft. Follow this link to see the full schedule because it will astound and delight you!!! I’m honored to be part of it, and I think I might be the only indie in the mix.

From 2:30 – 3:30, I’m joining John Pipkin, current Writer-in-Residence at Southwestern University, to talk about writing historical fiction. Come and bring all your questions! John appears to be a writer of literary fiction who has won a boat-load of awards, so I’ll be there for comic relief :-).

Then from 3:30 – 4:30 I’ll be talking about how to create compelling characters. (Hint: steal them from history.) This is probably the most enjoyable part of writing fiction, so again, come and bring those questions!

After that, I’m unassigned, which means, I think, that I’ll be in the general chaos room signing books. No, no, there won’t be any chaos. This event is beautifully organized by librarian Bette McDowell. But I will have copies of all my books to sell. $10 for the ones you buy from me; who knows what for Moriarty Meets His Match, which the rep from B&N will have on his table. (My indie-pendence confused him apparently, even though all my pbacks are available through his normal channel.)

Come one, come all! It’s going to be fun! And you know it’ll be hot outside so a cool library will be just the place to spend the afternoon.

Book signing: Texas Book Festival

Texas Book Festival

Saturday – Sunday, October 17-18, 2015

Texas Capitol Grounds, Austin, Texas

Here again I’ll be signing my books, wearing my Francis Bacon outfit on Saturday and my comfy working woman’s garb on Sunday. Wish for cool weather!

This is a giant festival, y’all, full of great books, writers, talks, and other fun. To make it all the more intriguing, the two Texas chapters of Sisters in Crime will be sharing a booth. That’s my chapter, Heart of Texas, and the North Dallas chapter. Many of our chapters’ published authors will be there during the weekend. I’ll post a schedule when we get it worked out.

Come on by and see what Sisters in Crime has to offer all lovers of crime fiction!
